The conflict continues to escalate around the Nexus 3 system as Commander and Warlords clash on many fronts. The arrival of reinforcements has bolstered the Imperiums defence of the system and they are standing their ground, refusing to give Chaos and Xenos alike any more of a foothold. From a campaign victory points of view it currently stands as follows:
Imperium = 10 wins (gaining 3 sectors) Chaos = 9 wins (gaining 2 sectors) Xenos = 8 wins (gaining 1 sector)

Thousand Sons vs Orks
The Thousand Sons clashed with a patrol of Orks pillaging a sector of Nexus III. Moving into a defensive position the Thousand Sons were to rely on malign trickery and quick tactics to ensure they could fell enough green bodies before it got too late and the Orks would be upon them.
The first few moves were cagey from both sides, not wanting to slip and make mistakes with so few assets to use in the battle. A trukk with a warboss inside was laughing and holding the midfield with ease, until a pesky sorcerer and a lot of flamers doombolted and scorched it to dust.
Unfortunately for the Sons out jumped the warboss with his skin so thick that even the most horrific warpfire found it most tricky to cut through. Turn after turn the Orks and Thousand Sons both made plays that could have secured them victory in this battle, but it came down the the luck of the warp by the end.
The screamers that were summoned by the infernal master in the penultimate play shredded the warboss and units retreated to hold ground. Giving the thousand sons a small victory. Though many units were damaged and will have to regroup.

Genestealer Cults vs Emperors Children
Retreating from their encounter with a part of the great Tyranid Hive Fleet, the workers of the Nexus III Greater Miners Guild returned to the tunnels and the darkness of their homes. Devising a great ritual to contact their god, the Four Armed Emperor, they set upon corrupting a backup Astropathic Choir station to send out a message into the great beyond. Primus Ikeel Voss is unsettled, then, to find that even here in the dark and quiet, they are set upon by enemies of their glorious day of ascension – and enters a pitched battle with a force of Slaanesh’s finest champions, the Emperors Children. Mining tools clashed with ancient Heresy Era armor and weapons, adorned with only the finiest of panoply and trinkets taken during revelrous combat, as the Cult fought valiantly to defend their ritual…However the powers of Slaanesh proved too great, and the Primus ordered his blessed congregation to retreat back into the deep, dark tunnels to lick their wounds and wait for their chance to strike again…
Today was lost. But the day of ascension was a plan generations in the making. They would persevere, and finally throw off their chains once more. Glory to the four-armed Emperor.

Tau vs Tyranids
Following a stalemate engagement several weeks ago against the forces of Chaos, the Vior’la Sept of the Tau Empire moved onwards towards a ruined Imperial City. As the Tau reached entrance of a once thriving imperial shrine, the Tyranids launched their attack.
Although on the back foot, the Tau secured the first turn which saw the Riptide, Ghostkeel and Pathfinders armed with Rail Rilfes, combining their attacks to destroy the Tyranids Exocrine.
The Tyranids returned an onslaught of damage from the Maleceptor, Zoanthropes and Neurotyrant, almost crippling the Devilfish and disembarked Breacher Team.
Causalities were exchanged during an intense 5 round battle, however the Tyranids Biovore guided them to victory with an endless barrage of Spore Mines, enabling a consistent Engage on all Fronts and Behind Enemy Lines.

Chaos Daemons vs Votaan
The votaan reconnaissance group scouted ahead of the main force in their local sector, hoping to scavenge the great spoils of war from previous battles fought. During their sweep, they soon experienced a rumble in Warp energy cackling around them.
Without hesitation, portals of the warp ripped open across the battlefield and out came pouring legions of Khornes finest daemons, chanting ‘Blood, Blood, Blood!’
The Votaan scout force soon found them self surrounded with all sorts of horrors from the warp. Despite mankind’s worst nightmare before them, under the direction of their Khal they stood steady, armed with the finest weaponry to hand. Gun fire soon lit up the sky, dispatching daemons with enormous amounts of laser fire and bolter rounds as if they were made of tissue.
The Daemons start to fall all around them, only for the dead to be sucked back into the Warp to reincarnat into something worse.
Despite round after round being fired, it wasn’t enough to hold the khorne cavalry charge at bay. In what felt like an instant, khornes swords of blood butchered through the votaan with ease. The sheer brute force of a blood crusher charge alone was enough to break the tight ranks of the hearthkin. Never mind the votaan flanks being exposed by the mutated flesh hounds, testing their courage and dragging the slow moving stragglers into the shadows to be devoured.
As the dust settled, decapitated heads of the votaans brothers in arms were used as trophies to mount on the daemons blood crushers. As they were sucked back into the Warp, they gained strength in numbers, ready to pounce on their next victim
