What Even Is A Backorder?

In this week’s episode of Outpost Dispatches Tam talked about Backorders and we thought it worth going into a bit more detail as it’s one of those things where ‘if you know, you know’, but can be open to misinterpretation until someone tells you.

So, what even is a backorder? Well lets start with why Backorders are necessary.

We list thousands of items from dozens of ranges from across the tabletop wargames, TCG, and TTRPG hobbies. With stock limitations from manufacturers, popular products being snapped up as soon as they hit our shelves, and the physical limits on store and warehouse space, we aren’t able to keep everything in stock all of the time.

We know not all FLGS have the ability to every range from all the multitude of manufacturers out there these days. And rather than have you search a ton of stores, ordering bits here and there, we want to be your one stop shop for all your hobby needs. That’s what pushes us to bring on the ranges you ask for, expanding what we offer month after month. This is where Backorders come in.

Rather than cross your fingers and hope you’re the one who snaps up that product you’re after, if and when it hits our shelves, you can order it through our website and secure it for yourself.

Any item labelled as ‘Can Be Backordered’ on our website isn’t in stock currently, but you can place an order and we’ll order it in for you.

Orders like this typically take between 4 and 14 days, however we will keep you updated on the order via email, and when it arrives instore you can pop in to collect it or we’ll post it straight out to you.

To find out more technical bits and bobs on Backorders check out in the FAQs on our website or speak to our team about placing an order for the things you want.
